About the Artist
Lena Sutter started embroidering in 2019 and was immediately taken by the meditative nature of the craft, the connection to time-old tradition, and of course the fact that it is something that can be done while being cozy on the couch (her and her dog’s favorite shared activity). While thread painting and especially pet portraits have been her favorite work, she loves exploring more graphic and cartoon styles in her patch work as well.
The name “Patch Bay” refers to Lena’s first love and current career, sound engineering. Patch Bays are used to route signal throughout the studio, and she couldn’t pass up a good audio pun when she saw one.
